Furman University's Institute for the Management of Information Technology (IMIT) was established to strengthen the university's ties to the corporate community by providing a range of information technology related educational services. IMIT is managed through the Rushing Center for Teaching and Technology, established in 1998 through a gift from Carroll Rushing, an entrepreneur and friend of the University.
Among IMIT's offerings are a number of professional development classes as well as certificate programs in project management and systems analysis/ design. All our training experiences are grounded in industry standards and best practices and rely on the use of case studies to connect concepts with practice and application.
Our Summer Institute, a week-long on-campus experience, explores IT as a business-within-a-business. This management-level program brings to the corporate community the best new ideas, tools, and conceptual frameworks for analyzing business challenges inherent in the IT arena.
The IMIT Post-Graduate Diploma Program represents a unique new model of post-graduate professional education. While grounded in a core of academically sound professional educational experiences, it recognizes the importance of, and the challenges inherent in, the application of academic concepts to the increasingly dynamic information technology and business environments characteristic of a knowledge-based economy. The Diploma awarded is a post-graduate credential recognizing both academic and professional accomplishments.
Furman is pleased to announce the Institute's newest program, the IMIT Corporate Partnership Program. Corporate Partners receive a number of enrollments in the IMIT professional development offerings including the Summer Institute, courses in project management and systems analysis and design, and access to the Post-Graduate Diploma Program.
