Paper #1

Paper length 1500 words.
(Unless otherwise stated, when you see a single recommended paper
length, you may allow a +/- tolerance of 10%.)

Select a quarter-century before 2000. (For example, 1875-1900,
1925-1950, etc.) Explain how the technology of food preparation,
storage, and/or eating changed significantly during this time.
Your paper should highlight at least two innovations or inventions.
You may use "Consider the Fork" as one of your sources, but you
will need to gather information from other sources as well.
The paper should be persuasive, and not just a recitation of facts.

First draft due - Monday, September 19
Individual conferences - Tuesday, September 20
Final version due - Friday, September 23
