Finding Benjamin...
Our Adventure in Siberia

Welcome! On July 7, 1997 we received the picture to
the right. It was a photo of the child who was soon to be our new
son, Benjamin. We learned that he was a resident of an orphanage in Irkutsk, Siberia,
which meant that we would be traveling literally halfway around the world
to get him and bring him home.
After three months of worrisome waiting, we were finally assigned a court date in Irkutsk. With great excitement -- and not a small amount of anxiety -- we departed on September 21. The next three weeks were incredibly eventful and fulfilling. We took many pictures and were also able to send e-mail messages to report on our adventure. This "virtual travelogue" combining the two is an attempt to share our experiences with the friends and loved ones who supported us throughout. Thank you so much! Enjoy. |  |
