Welcome to the Excel Introduction Course for the Busimess Department

This course focuses on learning how to solve business problems using Microsoft Excel 2010. Excel is widely used in business as a tool for solving problems and supporting business decisions. It is a powerful tool for the manipulation and analysis of data . This capability allows business decison makers to decide whether or not to take some course of action. This course will help you learn what type of problems are best solved with spreadsheets and how to solve them. One of the goals of this course is that you learn how to learn - in other words, understand how to explore and discover Excel features and tools to solve problems and support decisions.

One example of "what-if" analysis is with an organization's financial model in a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet could be used to evaluate what would happen if:

Many organizations spend hundreds of hours building models in spreadsheets to help answer questions such as those above. In this course, we will begin to learn how to develop such models to address business problems.
