The study abroad program in Ireland and Northern Ireland focuses on the interrelationships of three aspects of life in the 21st century: technology, economic globalization, and culture. Ireland has often been referred to as the Celtic Tiger, particularly during its rapid development during the nineties. Although more recently the tiger’s roar has quieted somewhat, the country still provides an interesting study in global business, technology development, and the accompanying social/cultural issues. Current discussions exist with regard to Northern Ireland’s ability to learn from and possibly emulate Ireland’s experience. The program will allow students to be immersed in the cultures of the countries and to observe how culture influences and is influenced by the changing business and technology environment. These issues will be explored through travel, lectures, and site visits in Galway, Dublin, and Belfast. The program will be capped at 30 students. Information Session
